LIVE SMALL GROUP COACHING SESSION: * FISHBOWL * Coaching Session s

This task is a wonderfully enriching coaching session, known as a Fishbowl, it is a 60 to 180-minute small group session depending on group size, the group is made up of participants and a volunteer client. The
session essentially has four roles:

The course
instructor

2.     
The client
(who is external)

3.     
A coaching
group, who will swap with,

4.     
An
observation group

A client while a volunteer is a real client (not a student from the group). Three of the students
in your fishbowl group elect to be coaches, and the remaining group are
observers, hence ‘fishbowl’. The instructor briefly explains the session format with the group
before starting. The instructor will then invite the initial participating
students to start to coach. The remaining members quietly observe and gather
feedback, until it’s their turn to coach. Students completing Fishbowls report a sense of real growth in their confidence and coaching.
